Vogue 8939 Turtleneck dress an expected wadder

Hey Y'all

So, I did it again.. "What?"  I made another garment with a characteristic that I don't really care for on myself simply because I saw it on other bloggers like Erica and Adrienne   and it looked fantastic. I tend to do this from time to time.
I know pretty much what does and does not work for my body and what I just don't particularly like in clothing on myself but every now and again I will make something that I know I will not probably wear anyway... That sounds so silly now that I just typed it out but it is what it is and it has happened on more than one occasion.

This dress Vogue 8939  is a turtleneck dress (obviously). I don't really care for turtlenecks on me, I never have since I was just a wee little girl and I had them in every color, design, and cartoon character possible. My mom was a believer in if it looks good, is inexpensive and available buy all they have.. I have so many pictures of me as a kid in turtle neck tops.

Anywho.. I saw the ladies mentioned above and their dresses and I loved it. I had actually made this dress before when I first started sewing, I made it up in a Ponte knit and fully lined it. As expected didn't like it, it was way to heavy and it has been hanging in my closet untouched every since, So what sense did it make to whip the pattern out of hiding and sew it up again? None! No sense at all but that's exactly what happened and here it is. Guess what?? I actually like it. Well the turtleneck part is bothersome but I like this dress enough to get at least one wear out of it..

It was windy, the sun was in my eyes and it had been a long day so these were the best pics I could get.
